Invisalign

Invisalign® makes it easy to straighten your teeth without bands, brackets, or wires.  Forget everything you’ve heard about teeth straightening because a proven technology now exists that lets you straighten your teeth ?invisibly.  Invisalign® is the clear, virtually invisible solution so you can smile during and after treatment.  By using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign® straightens your teeth right before your eyes.  Change them about every two weeks and your teeth will move ?little by little ?toward the smile you have always wanted!  Because aligners are removable, you can continue to eat your favorite foods while brushing and flossing normally to keep your teeth and gums as healthy as possible.

Invisalign® is often covered by orthodontic insurance, and may cost about the same as traditional braces.  Treatment time may also be comparable to that of traditional braces.  It varies, depending on your needs, but in some cases, Invisalign® works in less than a year.

We also offer Invisalign® Teen?so your teen won’t have to feel self conscious about attending prom, taking school photos, or any other day-to-day activity.  Avoid the hassle, discomfort, and embarrassment of traditional braces with Invisalign® Teen?

Straight, properly aligned teeth are not just a matter of looking your best; straight teeth are healthier teeth and straightening them can make a significant difference to having a healthy mouth and keeping your teeth for life.  Healthier gums, improved hygiene, and decreased risk of abnormal wear and trauma are all advantages of having straight teeth.  The health of your mouth also increases your risk for systemic problems, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, adverse pregnancy outcomes, and respiratory diseases.  Start on the road to a healthier mouth and inquire about Invisalign® treatment today!

TMJ Diagnosis & Treatment

The Temporomandibular Joint, or TMJ, consists of bone, cartilage and ligaments, and like other joints, it functions best when these parts are in proper relationship with each other.  If your TMJ becomes displaced or is affected by arthritic changes, you may experience headaches, dizziness, neck/shoulder pain, jaw pain or soreness, worn or cracked teeth, difficulty swallowing, earaches or ringing, limited mouth opening, clicking or joint sounds, locking jaw, sore facial muscles, and/or sensitive teeth.

Our office uses a new, ADA accepted device called Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA) to help find out if you have a TMJ problem, make an accurate diagnosis, and determine the severity level of your disorder.  It is a quick, non-invasive method that examines how your jaw joints function.  The vibration from each joint is like your own personal signature ?determined by loudness, duration, and frequency.  From this unique signature, we can determine which treatment is best for you.

We also offer the Kois Deprogrammer which features a small anterior stop that contacts the lower centrals. It can be worn at night to relieve muscle fatigue, relieve migraine headaches or as a diagnostic tool.

Interceptive Orthodontics

In the past, orthodontic treatment was not started in young patients until the ages of twelve to fourteen, after all of their permanent teeth had erupted.  Because growth and development were nearly complete by then, it was often necessary to remove up to four permanent teeth to correct the bite and/or profile.  Cooperation in wearing headgear and elastics was frequently lacking in some teens.

Interceptive orthodontics is a more recent concept where certain problems are addressed and treated early, around ages seven to eleven, to take advantage of the growth process and better compliance.  This can result in fewer teeth extracted, better profile and facial esthetics, and great, full smiles!

Bruxism

Bruxism is tooth grinding often caused by stress.  Usually it is done unconsciously while sleeping at night.  If you grind, clench or chomp your teeth, please let us know!  The solution may be as simple as making you a custom-fitted night guard.
